Brands We Love: Rylee and Cru

In this series of “Brands We Love and Why” we will introduce you to some of our most coveted labels from around the globe. Building a wardrobe you and your boys can feel good about isn’t always easy. We’re here to help you find what you’re looking for and create a dreamy, curated, little boys closet while being good to the planet at the same time. We invite you to shop premium boyswear brands with us and sell them back once your favorite items are outgrown.

When my boys are in need of a wardrobe refresh, be it because of seasonality or their quickly growing bodies (*sheds tear*), the first place I typically navigate is ryleeandcru.com.

As a boy mom, I know I can always count on Rylee and Cru to have a wide variety of sweet styles that I will feel good about dressing my kids in – and apparently, I’m not alone.

Rylee and Cru has quickly become one of Little Boy Thrift’s most popular brands. It wasn’t until I started doing my homework in preparation for this blog post that I found even more reasons to fall in love with this brand. I’m thinking that many of you who already frequent their online shop, may also learn something new about Rylee and Cru here today.

Holding the Highest Standard

Designed in California and produced overseas, I can appreciate that Rylee and Cru holds an incredibly high standard when they are sourcing fabrics – and truly, it shows. Their cotton tees, slub jerseys, and cable knits all seem to arrive with a beautiful, buttery hand-feel.

Each piece of fabric that goes into any of their carefully crafted garments must be:

  • Ethically made

  • Made of natural fibers

  • Made with natural dyes

  • Free of antimicrobial chemicals

  • Free of formaldehyde

  • Free of pesticides

  • Free of phthalates

  • Free of PFCs

  • Free of polyvinyl chloride (PVC)

  • Free of VOCs

Sometimes I forget that these are things that are important to me when I’m overtaken by a social media ad for some super cute, but super-fast-fashion garment – but they really are important. What we put on our babies’ skin matters.

I was also shocked when I stumbled upon Rylee and Cru’s page of giving. I had no clue how much they do every single year to support non-profits around the globe. Quick math, in 2023 alone, they made over $400,000 in charitable donations. I’m impressed and dream to one day be able to give the way that they do with my own brand I’m building here at Little Boy Thrift.

Easy wearing is the vibe. Buttoned up California. Lots of neutral and muted color palettes, simple to mix and match. Playful, yet relatively quiet graphic prints and patterns (most illustrated by Kelli Murray herself!). So many reasons to love and wear Rylee and Cru.
